We have a tree nursery at Bridle Road allotment.
We grow on young trees at this nursery until they are ready to be planted out. The number of trees we take care of on site varies, depending on planting plans, but currently we have about 500-600 young trees in pots. Most of these trees are between 1 and 3 years old.
Fun and community spirit
It’s a lovely peaceful plot. We work on the site informally a couple of hours at a time, at different times of the day or week to suit members. We usually meet at the plot once or twice a month during the growing season and more often during the hot summer season for watering tasks.
It’s a great little community and it’s satisfying to care for the trees in pots, tending them until they are ready to be planted out.
