EETAB volunteers plant trees near St Martin’s School Ashley Road

On Saturday 13th December EETAB volunteers conducted a tree maintenance work party at St Martin’s School on Ashley Road. This is the third year of an ongoing project in the open grass area at the front of the school, originally identified by EETAB as benefiting from some planting to limit cars driving onto the grass. Four Hornbeam and three Hazel shrubs were planted to prevent vehicle overrun onto the grassed area.

In addition, volunteers planted 15 new Birch trees, strategically placed along the school’s fence line to create a natural, effective screen.

Many thanks to our volunteers who gave their time to plant these trees. Street trees and hedges like these contribute to cleaner air, reduced noise pollution, and increased local biodiversity.
